Besides organizing number of Cancer Detection cum Screening and Public Awareness Programmes at Kashmir Valley in collaboration with the team of doctors from Indian Co-operative Oncology Network (ICON) Mumbai headed by Dr.Purvish.M.Parikh Head Department of Oncology Tata Memorial Institute Mumbai in the year 2005. The Society has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)with them on the following lines in order to have a long term cooperation between the Society and the ICON: -

  • Cancer Awareness and Detection/Screening Programmes will be held jointly by Indian Co-operative Oncology Network (ICON) and Cancer Society of Kashmir (CSK) at least thrice a year (after every 4 months). The Indian Co-operative Oncology Network (ICON) will depute a team of doctors when such programmes will be held. The Cancer Society of Kashmir will be responsible for providing all local hospitality and Indian Co-operative Oncology Network (ICON) will arrange/bear travel expenses of the team members.
  • The Indian Co-operative Oncology Network (ICON) will assist the Cancer Society of Kashmir (CSK) to select and train its volunteers in professional counseling. Ms. Nandna Kasotia volunteered to come to Kashmir as and when possible to provide guidance to the volunteers.
