Technical teams of the Society have launched a massive screening programme at district
headquarters in collaboration with Chief/Block Medical Officers. The equipments/cytochemicals
etc. needed to make this programme operational are already available with the Society
to make these programmes successful.
The Society has conducted 27 Mass Screening/Free Endoscopy Camp at various districts
of the Valley to check the disease. During these programmes about 300-400 patients
are being assessed by super specialists for various GI ailments at each place. In
each such screening programmes, about 50-60 patients are being screened for endoscopy.
The patients screened for free endoscopy in these camps and those found positive
for any malignancy are being referred to hospitals for treatment.
